Why I Put Butter in my Coffee
If you’re like me, coffee is an important part of your day. Not because I need it to wake up, or function, but because I absolutely fucking love it’s flavour. A slow morning with a warm cup of coffee is high on my Joy List.
Before I discovered bulletproof coffee, I enjoyed my coffee black. Being lactose intolerant for years, then becoming 90% plant-based, milk was never on my list.
Yes, it goes have grass fed butter, but doesn’t seem to affect my gut.
Here’s my version ingredient list:
1 cup black coffee
1 tablespoon of grass fed butter
1 teaspoon of MCT oil or coconut oil

Here’s how I make it:
Using our Keurig machine, create 1 cup of black coffee (your choice of coffee)
Cut a chunk of grass fed butter
Scoop out some coconut oil
Combine everything in your favourite blender. My Magic Bullet or Vitamix (links to Amazon.ca)
Close the lid tight (it sprays EVERYWHERE if you don’t)
Turn on for 30 seconds at higher speed
Once frothed, serve and drink!

This new style of coffee is the first thing I consume with calories and it keeps me working at high capacity for most of the morning. Try it out, but make sure it’s the first thing you drink. Don’t start your day with toast, or something high carb, then try it. #fatfirst
